Research Overview

The Infant Neuromotor Control Laboratory (INCLab) studies the development of neural control of movement during infancy and evaluates interventions for neural and functional development in infants with or at risk for developmental delay. Current projects are focused on understanding the relationship between movement experience, movement outcomes and underlying neural control. We are using Opal movement sensors (small, lightweight, synchronized accelerometer /gyroscope /magnetometers) to analyze infant movement experience and movement outcomes through full-day, in-home monitoring. The INCLab has a 32-channel electroencephalography system and infant headcaps for the collection and analysis of infant brain activity data related to the neural control of movement.
