USC researchers win $8 million NIH grant to pursue novel Alzheimer’s drug

The team of scientists, led by NGP Faculty Hussein Yassine, is investigating why some carriers of the APOE4 gene — the strongest genetic risk factor for Alzheimer’s — develop dementia while others remain cognitively healthy.
